Fiskeriet

Since the 1930s, Oslo citizens have bought fresh fish at Youngstorget. Grid Design is proud to help in continuing the tradition. The legendary fish and game store, Erling Moe, had been a central part of Operapassagen for 74 years when, in 2009 it had to close. The 12th of August this year, the smell of seafood came back again, and in the same premises, when Fiskeriet opened its doors.

The store is an inspiring place for fish trading, and a meeting place for local people with an interest in food. Interior architect Marius Brandl has given the interior an international look with elements of tradition and craftsmanship. This also became the starting point for the design profile. The logo, supporting graphics, interior design, decoration and web pages are richly detailed, and traditional items have been made using new and modern techniques, making the profile both interesting and unique.

Fiskeriet is both a fish shop and a restaurant with professionals working behind the counter. You can get tips, advice and recipes on the website, not to mention a pleasant and trendy atmosphere on the premises. Dot Grid has developed an exciting website for Fiskeriet and soon dinners can be ordered online. See the movie about how the Italian designer Tomasso Garner made a wall painting on the premises here!

Fiskeriet has had a lot of media attention since the opening and the store is always full of people – the fish soup and fish ‘n´ chips have already become legendary!
