Ruter’s new sales and service point
The service point at Jernbanetorget and Nationalteatret was developed together with Ruter’s project group under very tight project deadlines.
Grid was asked further to complete the architectural work and detailing of these service points after the initial concept-work was completed. Both service points were opened just prior to the 2011 Nordic Ski World Championship in Oslo.
It is important for Ruter to be physically available and visible to their customers, helping those who need a personal guidance. However, the service points have been developed with the aim that customers can help themselves as much as possible.
Real-time information boards for Trafikanten
Grid has been developing new information boards that are updated constantly for Trafikanten since May 2010. The work is completed with a large installation at Europarådets plass at Jernbanetorget in Oslo. Grid has also been involved with new signage development of bus and tram stops, based on new design guidelines from Ruter’s TID- project.
The project had a universal design focus and Grid Design developed sketches, technical drawings and was instrumental in collating and developing signage tenders and applications and dialogue with the local planning authorities.
This is the first stage in establishing a series of large information-points that give users a collective overview of all the available public transport services in the area. The system visualises availability and choice clearly and concisely and is designed to visually integrate with its immediate surroundings.
